History & Mission Statement
MAHI society was incorporated in April of 2012
MAHI was organized by Greek Canadian mothers living outside of who became increasingly concerned for their Motherland and place of birth through the circulation of disturbing news of the social perils that accompanied the recent economic devastation faced by and its people. As the speculation of a major economic downturn in mainstream and social media platforms become a reality, the subsequent social devastation unfolded before their very eyes - the extent of which would be felt by every man, women and child living within ’s borders.
With the Euro zone on the verge of collapse, and Greece situated front and center in this crisis, it became apparent to MAHI’s mothers that along with the economic downturn, a downturn in the quality of life of all Greeks would naturally consume the over 11 million residing within its borders.
To MAHI's mothers, this was simply unacceptable and something had to be done - something HAS to be done. The suffering of Greeks was and is unacceptable and the plight of the citizenry has to be addressed.
At the eye of this social cyclone are societies most vulnerable: mothers their children, and the elderly.
And with this need MAHI was founded to make a difference.
